I started a 14 day, raw-whole foods cleanse Feb 1st and in 7 days I lost 10lbs without:
- Over-exercising
- Never felt hungry
- No shakes, pills or potions
- No crazy supplements
- No crazy diet, just eating raw whole foods.. as much as I want!
What I did is limit my diet to only raw whole foods with my NutriBullet.
I feel great, have more energy, my mind is sharper and I broke a weight plateau I've been on for over a year!
Three to four times per day I fill my NutriBullet with 50% leafy greens, 50% fruit and occasionally some nuts, Chia Seeds, liquid aloe and ORGANIC Spurulina Powder.
Here's a list of what I use and recommend
The NutriBullet “pulverizes” the raw veggies, fruit, and nuts to a “blend” or drink you simply consume. After drinking you feel like you've had a meal!
This is NOT juicing!
I bought a juicer a few years ago and used it for a month. Some love them but I didn't. The fruit and veggies go into the juicer and you get a very small glass of juice. All the fiber and I believe many of the nutrients, go into the waste catcher and are thrown away!
With the NutriBullet you keep the fiber, the entire drink is made into a drinkable blend and they taste great!
What I had to give up for 14 days
My primary goal for 14 days was to cleanse my system, rebuild my gut and of course lose some weight and break through a plateau I've been fighting for 12 months!
So basically no alcohol or cooked foods. No meat, dairy or refined sugars. All I drink is water or tea, all I eat is raw whole foods, un-cooked but blended together vs. eating and chewing.
Your gut needs a vacation!
When I was watching a recent video they discussed how our gut and digestive tracts are tired and worn out. Especially if you are eating processed foods. Just like you need a vacation, your stomach, and digestive tract need a vacation so cleanse for 7, 10, 14 days. I've even heard of people going 30 days and honestly, it's not that hard, I'm sure I could do it!
NutriBullet
NutriBullet ZNBF30500Z Blender Combo 1200 Watt, 1200W, Dark Gray
I got my NutriBullet for Christmas and loved it from the first day! At first, I was drinking one blend a day and started replacing lunch. For breakfast, I only eat eggs so going for 14 days adding another shake in the morning wasn't that tough.
Dinner was more difficult. I had to drink a blend around my family having “normal” meals but it's really not that bad after the first couple days. Once the weight starts dropping and you feel better, the motivation to go up keeps you dedicated!
Books and movies that motivated me
During my 14-day cleanse I've also watched a number of movies/documentaries on how to eat better and lose weight naturally. You can purchase them or rent them for a few bucks from Amazon Video. I highly recommend watching them.
